Organisation not found during registration

Why your organisation may not be found during registration and how to resolve it.

When adding an organisation the platform searches by Chamber of Commerce number or company name. In some cases your organisation is not found, even though it is registered at the Chamber of Commerce. This is almost always related to the synchronisation of the company database.

Why is my organisation not found?

The platform does not search directly in the Chamber of Commerce register, but in Purple Pages: a proprietary database maintained by eConnect that is periodically synchronised with the Chamber of Commerce (Netherlands) and KBO (Belgium). This synchronisation can lag several weeks behind the current Chamber of Commerce records.

The most common situations:

  • Recently established company: your organisation was just registered at the Chamber of Commerce and the details have not yet been synced to Purple Pages.
  • Recent name or address change: the old details are still in the database. Try searching by the old name or the Chamber of Commerce number.
  • International organisation: Purple Pages primarily contains Dutch and Belgian company data. Organisations from other countries must be created manually.
What can you do?

First try searching by Chamber of Commerce number instead of company name, as this gives the most reliable result. If that also yields no result:

  1. Wait for the next synchronisation: the database is updated regularly from the Chamber of Commerce. After a few weeks your organisation is usually available.
  2. Check your Chamber of Commerce details: if your organisation is still not found after a longer period, verify that your details at the Chamber of Commerce are correct and complete. Purple Pages retrieves its data directly from the Chamber of Commerce, so any corrections must be made there. After the correction at the Chamber of Commerce, Purple Pages will pick up the correct details during the next synchronisation.
  3. Submit a support request: file a request via support.econnect.eu with your Chamber of Commerce number and company name. For a Dutch organisation with a valid Chamber of Commerce number, manual addition by support is free of charge. The separate registration process with contract and activation costs applies only to foreign organisations via PSB/remote starter, not for Dutch Chamber of Commerce numbers.
Missing VAT number for a debtor

It can also happen that your organisation is found, but the VAT number is not automatically populated when creating an invoice. A VAT number does not need to be in Purple Pages. You can create and activate your organisation based on the Chamber of Commerce number, and then add the VAT number yourself in the platform.

Belgian organisation with a BE1 enterprise number not found

Since 2025, the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (KBO) issues new enterprise numbers with prefix 1 instead of 0, as the 0 range is running out. Both BE0xxxxxxxxx and BE1xxxxxxxxx are valid numbers. The eConnect platform and Purple Pages support both variants.

If an organisation with a BE1 number is not found, check whether you also filled in an IBAN or another identifier at the same time as saving. The platform validates all entered identifiers simultaneously against Purple Pages. An IBAN is not in Purple Pages, which causes the validation to fail and you receive an error message as though the BE1 number is incorrect — while the BE1 number itself is valid.

Solution: save the organisation first with only the enterprise number. Then add the IBAN as a separate step in the organisation settings.

Chamber of Commerce number already in use by another account

One Chamber of Commerce number can only be activated once on the platform. If you want to manage multiple administrations or departments under the same Chamber of Commerce number, there are two routes:

  • Separate administrations under the same organisation: use multiple GLNs as access points per administration combined with multi-administration detection in IDR. Contact support to set this up.
  • Move the organisation to another account: the existing organisation is deleted (including all stored documents — you must explicitly consent to this), after which you can reactivate it in the new account.
