iDEAL | Wero payment failed during activation, what now?

Solutions when the iDEAL | Wero payment during organisation activation fails or the name check does not pass.

Activating your organisation via iDEAL | Wero is done in the Details of the relevant organisation. During activation, it may happen that the payment is not processed or that activation does not proceed automatically. In most cases, this is easy to resolve.

Payment cancelled or window closed

If you cancelled the iDEAL | Wero payment or closed the browser window too early, the payment was not completed. The platform shows the message "Previous transaction still in progress" when you try to pay again.

The solution is to remove the organisation (this is possible as long as it has not been activated) and add it again. You then go through the entire process again: search for the organisation, add it and activate via iDEAL | Wero.

Unable to remove, or does the message keep returning? Submit a support request via support.econnect.eu. Support can manually remove the organisation so you can start over.

Payment successful, but organisation not activated

The most common reason is that the name check fails. With an iDEAL | Wero payment the platform compares the organisation name with the name returned by the bank (the account holder). These do not always match. Examples:

  • The bank returns an abbreviated name while the Chamber of Commerce name is the full statutory name.
  • The company has a different trade name than the statutory name.
  • The payment was made from a personal account instead of a business account.

In all these cases the payment has succeeded; only the automatic name check did not pass. The support team receives a notification and reviews the situation manually. For a recognisable deviation (such as an abbreviated name) the organisation is activated without any action required from you.

For a larger deviation the support team may ask you to:

  • Pay again with a bank account registered in the name of the organisation, or
  • Send a Chamber of Commerce extract as proof that you are authorised to act on behalf of the organisation.

Important: paying multiple times is pointless if the name check keeps failing on the same deviation. One payment is sufficient; the manual review follows automatically.

Sole trader: bank account in personal name

For sole traders, the (business or personal) bank account is structurally often registered under the natural person's name, not under the trade name or business name as registered with the Chamber of Commerce. The name check then fails, but this is a normal and expected pattern -- not an error.

The standard fallback: send a Chamber of Commerce extract by email to support. If it shows that the account holder is authorised to act financially on behalf of the organisation, support activates the organisation manually. You do not need to make the payment again.

Belgian organisations

Activation via iDEAL | Wero is not possible for Belgian organisations, because iDEAL | Wero currently only supports Dutch bank accounts for activation. Belgian customers activate via the manual method: you receive an invoice of €15 and after payment the organisation is activated by the support team. See Add and activate an organisation for the full procedure.

How long does activation take?

With a successful iDEAL | Wero payment and correct name check, activation is instant. With a manual review, the support team processes activations in a weekly batch — activation does not happen in real time, but in the next processing round. Want it faster? Include a screenshot of your payment proof with your support request via support.econnect.eu — the support team can then move ahead of the regular weekly batch.
